Resistors — like a tap.

Resistors restrict the flow of water.
They make the “pipe” diameter smaller — like a tap.

Water analogy: a 5V syringe pushes water through an LDR tap to a T-pipe, with an A0 pressure gauge and a GND return line. The tap is open in light and restricted in darkness.
