What is an “LDR”?
An LDR is also called:
- A light sensor
- A photoresistor
- A Light-Dependent Resistor
It is a passive electronic component
whose electrical resistance changes
as the light intensity hitting it changes.
So an LDR is basically a resistor.
How can we read the light level?
- DIGITAL — HIGH / LOW
- ANALOG — a voltage range
We can use an analog pin to read a range of light levels through the voltage in our circuit.
