How can we fix it?
DIVIDE — the pipe.
Part one — smaller
If we could take a small section of the return pipe and make that section “smaller,” pressure could build before that section.
At our measuring point, the pressure would no longer fall all the way to the return pressure.
We can’t make our existing wires narrower.
What CAN we do?
Part two — 2nd choke
We partly BLOCK the other side of the pipe.
If we CHOKE the return pipe, even though its size remains the same, the amount of water going through is LIMITED.
So we get LESS water per second, while the supply’s push stays the same — 5V.
The pressure now drops across both restrictions, leaving some pressure at the point between them.
Part three — recap and combine
Voltage — the pressure with which we push.
Imagine the same “5V push” and 5 liters of water in both cases:
A small pipe: more resistance, less water per second. The water takes longer to drain.
A GIANT pipe: less resistance, more water per second. The water drains faster.
The total 5 liters is an amount. How much moves each second is the flow rate.
Voltage — the strength of the push.
Current — the amount of water per second that moves.
